An exhibition at the ZKM_Media Lounge and ZKM_Museum Balcony
Opening: Fri., September 5, 2014, 7 p.m. with live performance of an Ed Sommer’s score by by Ensemble “Exvoco”, from Stuttgart.
The ZKM is scheduled to show an overview of the multilayered work of Ed Sommer, the artist who prefers to call himself "picture-language maker". The retrospective exhibition ranges from early monochrome relief paintings and better-known thermorplastic deformations through to the more recent photographic works. Furthermore, with this exhibition a selection of Ed Sommer’s restored and digitalized experimental films will now be on show for the first time since the early 1970s.
