In his painting Lino Fiorito has created a form of abstraction which is poetic and light, yet permeated by a persistent seriousness.
Each painting is like a thought, which seems to have appeared, strangely ephemeral and resisting a final explanation. What exactly are we looking at?
If it’s hidden, it is a flower;
if it’s not hidden, it is not a flower.
Lino Fiorito’s paintings are kind of a koan, a visual challenge: for Lino Fiorito making watercolors, drawings and ceramics is a daily practice. In each of the works a trace is left of the day they were done, but it’s not a diary, it is more like an experience.
Nothing is hidden everything is in front of us:
Like a dream, an apparition, a bubble or a shadow
they are like dew or like lightning.
