Toon Verhoef was born in 1946 and lives and works in Amsterdam and Edam. He taught from 2008 to 2014 at the Saatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karslruhe among other teaching roles.
Verhoef gained renown through spectacular presentations such as at MoMA PS1, New York, in 1977, at documenta 7 in Kassel in 1982, at the Stedelijk Museum in 1983 and 2001, at the Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven in 1986/7 and in Schaffhausen at the Hallen für Neue Kunst in 1991.
The Kunsthaus Baselland is delighted to introduce Toon Verhoef with a current group of very large scale painting works realised in recent months.
This exhibition comes about in cooperation with the De Pont Museum for Contemporay Art, Tilburg (NL).
A catalogue for the exhibition will appear mid-October.
